Residencies for filmmakers from Ukraine and filmmakers at risk from Russia and Belarus

For 30 years, the NIPKOW PROGRAMM has represented the artistic dialogue between nations and supported international understanding.

As an international talent pool, we consider it indispensable to foster and promote artistic dialogue and to offer a distinct place for encounters and international understanding, especially in times of political uncertainty.

Therefore, in the current political situation, we are running an acute emergency aid programme for filmmakers from Ukraine and for threatened filmmakers from Russia and Belarus, which is committed to these values.

With a 6-month scholarship stay in Berlin (between July 2022 and April 2023) we want to support aspirants from these countries to face the exceptional nature of their respective life situations and the challenging difficulties.

During these months, the filmmakers will be given the opportunity to come to rest in a protected setting in order to further develop their film projects and advance their careers.

The fellows who were selected by an international, independent jury, are professionally accompanied and supported - in accordance with the aims and values of the NIPKOW PROGRAMM.

To this end, we offer tailor-made training seminars on various aspects of filmmaking and individual mentoring. The individual support also includes professional "care and accompaniment after traumatic experiences".
