Medienboard Berlin Brandenburg and its
Artist-in-Residence (AiR) Exchange programme for International filmmakers

The artist-in-residence programme offers selected filmmakers the opportunity to gain international experience and forge industry contacts, bringing together young artists from Guanajuato, Hong Kong, Paris, Tel Aviv and Toronto with filmmakers in Berlin-Brandenburg.

The stays in Berlin are organised by the Nipkow-Programm who also oversees the curriculum of each of the selected residents of the 7 Medienboard-funded programmes. Alongside of cooperating with Mumbai and Palestine, there are bidirectional exchange programmes with Hong Kong, Israel, Mexico, Toronto und Paris. The awarded grants cover travel costs, accommodation, monthly pocket money and professional support while networking in the film industry of the respective host country.

The Guanajuato - Berlin artist-in-residence programme enables a filmmaker from Guanajuato (Mexico) to live and work for three months in Berlin (Germany). In this way, the filmmaker from Guanajuato receives a unique opportunity to develop his/her skills and become familiar with the German film industry. He/she will get to know Berlin and thus Germany in all its many facets, and will gain insight into the German media and film scene. The programme is oriented toward the needs of the fellowship recipients. Representatives of Germany's film and media industry and cultural institutions are available to serve as mentors. The stay is organised by the Nipkow Programm and is financed by the Medienboard Berlin Brandenburg GmbH.
